These days, everyone is chasing after material goods. Good grades, good career opportunities, good finances. And yet, despite attaining all these, there is still a sense of deep dissatisfaction amongst us. Why is this so?

The hope, peace, joy and love is missing in our hearts because none of these paper achievements can ever fulfill our deepest desires — that which can only be filled with God.

The one reason John the Baptist and all the prophets were so fearlessly and joyfully preaching the coming of the Messiah was because they had personal encounters with God.

The moment we experience a true encounter with God, your life changes. One’s life can never remain the same, because you are so filled with joy. Your perspective of your end changes. You realise what is worth chasing after. During this Third Week of Advent, let us pray for the graces to personally encounter God.
