Morning Poem

My King! Good morning! What a day you have made. Here I am your servant, your handmaid, your knight to write a story that would bring you delight.

Here is your servant. Make me humble and true. Help me to forget myself and think only of you. Let me serve those in your royal image whether I like them or not because they are yours and they must not be forgot!

Let me begin today bending my knee in awe of your beauty but also your sovereignty, because I am here to love as you love, to be a servant in the land you begot. All of creation cries out for its King. No body can you send but mine in hopes that the sad will meet your son divine.

Let me think not of whether I am big or small but whether your people are loved with mine all. This new day might be grey like the shadows or bright like the sun but free me from the whispers that say my job has been done. That enough love has been given, too much beauty created and any more truth said would leave me forsaken.

Let me remember the waters that cleaned me, the fire that marked me and your beautiful love that so tirelessly sought me.

Good morning, My King!  Give me love to love you more than I did yesterday, and the joy to greet you joyfully every morning until the end of my days.
