Your Will Be Done

St. Dominic Savio once met a new boy who joined his school. This new boy seemed to be sickly — he was weak, pale, coughing, and not able to join in the games. Dominic went up to him and tried to engage him in conversation. The boy told him about his illness, and Dominic asked, “Do you want to get better?” The boy responded, “I only want to do the Lord’s will.” From that moment on, Dominic became fast friends with the boy.

Many of us have been praying for an end to the virus, healing for our friends, or other physical blessings. And this is good! God wants us to ask Him for physical things.

But a more mature prayer is, “Lord, Your will be done.” We should also be praying, “Lord, sanctify me through this time.” These are the attitudes and dispositions of one who has a holy detachment from the things of this world. Neither life nor death, neither health nor sickness, neither prosperity nor adversity — but may God’s will be done, that I may be sanctified in every circumstance!

  1. Charity must be based on Truth. Since the pandemic is a hoax, no one should have complied with the lockdowns and Demonic restrictions such as wearing the masks.
