A Spiritual Blast

Guest post by Fr. Scott W. Brossart, SOLT

How can I help others see the truth behind the pro-choice lie? Honestly without God leading, I can do nothing. I always ask Him to lead me in speech, writing, conversations, etc. lest I lead others away from Him.

First and foremost I pray and lift up my sufferings for others, especially within the Masses that I celebrate (for example, I lifted everyone up in Mass, that were entrenched in a pro-choice view or vote for pro-choice politicians).

Furthermore, the more they are entrenched, the more drastic the need to wake them up from their view, and some are really in fortified bunkers now and it takes a spiritual bunker buster bomb to shake them out of the hole they have dug themselves into. For most, this may be the only means to help them out of the hole.

This is why the Catholic Church in her wisdom and mercy calls for excommunication when certain extreme intrinsic evils are performed or someone who is obstinate in a serious view contrary to Catholic Church teaching. She does this not so as to force the person(s) out of the Church, but rather, by doing so, wants to help them realize the seriousness of their situation and therefore repent and come back in God’s grace into full union with the Church who loves them.

This is also the reason why I am asking those who are pro-choice and or vote for pro-choice/pro-abortion politicians to remove me from their friend list. I am always ready and available to talk, to listen, to try to help, but do those who hold these view really want to receive this from me in regards to their position?

I do love them and wish to be in union with them as with every soul created, but sometimes the bunkers are too thick and it takes a loud cry to wake them from their slumber… and I am crying loudly.
