And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you,
as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to Me.’
~ Matthew 25:40

Our charity matters. It matters because at the end, only love remains. Faith and Hope are necessary to get us into heaven, but after which, only love remains. This is why St. Paul said that love is the greatest of them all.

If we have no love for others, how then, is it even possible for us to enter Heaven, where love reigns for all eternity? If we cannot love and we cannot forgive, we are not ready to enter Heaven. This Lent, let us continue to remember our own unworthiness and mortality. We are all failures and sinners in our own way.

Let us continue to be broken instruments usable by our Lord to minister to the poor.
