I got a request recently to draw a picture of Joseph with Jesus, and I loved doing it (sorry about the grainy quality, though– I’m not sure what happened, I’ll try and fix it). Anyway, drawing this gave me a chance to reflect on fatherhood– I think a lot of the time we (or I, at least) focus on Mary and Jesus’ relationship, and forget about Joseph. What a man he must have been, to raise the Son of God! A lot of us need fathers in this troubled world, and while God is, of course, Our Father, don’t be afraid to pray for Saint Joseph’s intercession too. If anyone was a role model for an earthly father, I’m sure it was him. God bless!

I love, love, love St. Joseph. Could wax on about this man for days! St. Joseph, pray for us!
I absolutely love St Joseph. He, I have read, is the patron saint of stepparents (of course, right?), and as a stepmother, I often look to him for intercession. Whenever I find it difficult navigating my blended family situation, I imagine what it must be like to be the stepfather of God. Awesome, awesome saint.
This is a beautiful picture Elaine. I often forget about the love that Joseph would have had for Jesus and I think this picture perfectly captures that.
