Kayla Peterson is a Catholic, a wife, and a book addict. On June 25, 2011 she married the love of her life. Together, they are working on building their marriage for the Lord. Though she is Catholic and her husband is not, they enjoy worshiping Christ together, finding common ground, and trying not to shout about their differences. Their hope is that their children will know, love, and honor God with all their hearts, minds, and souls. Kayla blogs about interfaith marriage and other topics that strike her fancy at The Alluring World.

Hill draw stark, thought-provoking conclusions from their study “What Catholic women think about faith, conscience, and contraception”. The study highlights the underlying [...]

Hill, have published their preliminary report “What Catholic Women Think about Faith, Conscience, and Contraception”, in which they seek the answers to questions which many have assumed [...]

Earlier this month, my husband and I moved across state lines to start anew in North Carolina. Everything about the move was exciting – well, except for the packing and the driving. We need to revise how we talk about modesty. When I was a teenager and was told about modesty, it was couched in terms of my sexuality as well as the sexuality of the men I came into contact with. The takeaway message was this: Your body is good for 2 things – having babies [...]

I’ve been working my way through Caritas in Veritate for what seems like forever now. And even though I’m halfway through, I already know that I will need to reread as soon as I finish because there is so much packed into those 30,000 words. When we were told that the new symposium would be [...]

Everyone tells you how hard marriage is. They warn you against letting the sun go down on your anger, give creative ideas for date nights and share war stories from their newlywed years. Intellectually, you know all of this is true, all possible, and so you take notes. You try hard to budget for a [...]

I went to public school until the eleventh grade. After that, I attended a small Catholic school until the end of volleyball season, then begged my parents to homeschool me. I was homeschooled the rest of that year, then my senior year, going to the local community college for the fall semester to finish up [...]

There has been a lot of talk around the blogosphere, in the news, and likely in our homes about the HHS Mandate and what it means for our Church and our lives lately. Now, from what I’ve read from those who back the Mandate, they are primarily motivated by concern for women. They (seem to) [...]

When I was a child, this was my favorite song from Vacation Bible Study. I loved the hand gestures, the upbeat attitude, and the simpleness. All I had to do was trust in the Lord with my whole heart, and nothing would go wrong. He loved me and would take care of everything. It was [...]

I’m just going to assume that there are still some people wondering what to do for gifts this year. To alleviate a bit of stress, I decided early on that I was going to give out pretty packages filled with delicious goodies as presents to most people, instead of stressing over the materialism that [...]
