I want to make sure all you great Catholics out there are aware of what is, in my opinion, a few of the best Catholic debates of all time – Fr. Mitch Pacwa on the John Ankerberg Show.
I learned a heck of a lot from Fr. Mitch Pacwa watching him handle these tough Protestant issues on the John Ankerberg Show, with a less-than-unbiased moderator. Fr. Pacwa is so precise and clear; in the words of one of my professors “He’s got a brain the size of France.”
There are too many videos to post them all here, but to get the rest, go to youtube and type “Fr. Mitch Pacwa debate”.
Go learn something!

Fr. Pacwa is incredibly intelligent and charitable.
Nice.
I feel like debates like this are a waste of time. People will cling to their preconceived baises to the grave. In the words of Cardinal Newman, “Quarry the granite rock with razors, or moor the vessel with a thread of silk; then may you hope with such keen and delicate instruments as human knowledge and human reason to contend against those giants, the passion and pride of man.”
Worth watching, but it is not a debate. It is a rigged trial with three prosecutors (Martin, Ankerberg, and the person putting text on the screen) hurling multiple accusations at the accused, Jesus (in the form of his body the Church). The prosecution controls the agenda. They allow the defense, Father Mitch, to answer some select charges but most often string together a list of unanswered accusations. I sincerely hope for the sake of their souls that they “knew not what they do”. This was not an honest attempt to determine truth. Father Mitch handled the situation quite well.
Mr. Ankerberg, whose show these “debates” were held on and who “moderated” the debates, has on his web site over 200 articles attacking the Catholic Church as a cult.
