Forgotten Praise

I have forgotten, Lord,  to look at the beauty you’ve given.

Just watching the clouds pass is really magnificent!

The squirrel tormenting the cat from its safe position in the tree.

The shape and color of the leaves that fall to the ground.

The rays of light shining through on the most dismal of days.

The stranger that makes me smile when I am out of sorts.

How many wondrous things have passed me by without my examination?

How dull my life is without that recognition…

and how painful it must be for you, Lord,

to become a slave, providing such a wonderful feast,

and we do not even sit at the table and devour your beauty!

Taste and see that the LORD is good;

blessed is the stalwart one who takes refuge in him.

Psalm 34:9
